DAR delivers CSFs to five Lanao Norte towns

ILIGAN CITY, December 10 (PIA) – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) delivered and turned over common service facilities (CSFs) to agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) from five municipalities in Lanao del Norte province in a ceremony held in Iligan City.

The CSFs were procured under the Agrarian Reform Communities Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCCESS) Project.

DAR-10 Regional Director Faisar Mambuay led the ceremony along with Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Jamil Amatonding Jr. and Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer I Kamar Mindalano Jr.

The Maria Cristina Coconut Farmers’ Multipurpose Cooperative from Balo-i town and Rebucon Farmers’ Cooperative of Sultan Naga Dimaporo received three corn shellers and one tractor with a five-ton trailer and harrow, while Rebe Multipurpose Cooperative from Lala also availed of three floating tillers.

Two corn shellers were also handed to the Pangil Farmers’ Multipurpose Cooperative from Matungao and one unit tractor with a five-ton trailer and harrow was likewise given to the Palao Agrarian Reform Cooperative from Tubod.

Addressing the ARBOs, regional director Mambuay emphasized on taking care of all grants from the government, as CSFs, and other equipment from local, national and foreign-assisted projects are opportunities for rural development.

“These projects will increase the income and improve the lives of the farmers and their communities,” Mambuay said.

In his message, PARPO II Amatonding assured the ARBs that for more technical assistance and support services provided that they comply with the guidelines and is successful in their projects; more grants are likely to come. (DAR/PIA)

Lanao Norte guidance counselors mull market labor information

ILIGAN CITY, Lanao del Norte, December 10 – The Iligan City-Lanao del Norte Career Counselors Association (IC- LDN CCA), through the Department of Labor and Employment, Regional Office No. 10 (DOLE-10) – Lanao del Norte Provincial Field Office (LDN PFO) held its 3rd Quarter meeting cum learning session on 16 October 2015 in Iligan city.

DOLE-X LDN PFO Head, Remegio D. Cabañog said that the IC-LDN CCA is a group of guidance counselors and career coaches from different schools in Lanao del Norte that was organized by DOLE to conduct career advocacy to their respective students to prevent jobs-skills mismatch in the future.

Cabañog further said that the meeting was attended by 22 participants from its private and public educational institutions members, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) managers.

“This is considered as an effective tool in coaching students on their appropriate career choices later on and at the same time, a venue for the counselors and coaches to be updated of the latest trends on Labor Market Information (LMI),” DOLE-X Regional Director Raymundo G. Agravante said.

“The members also discussed matters on the full implementation of the Department of Education’s (DEPED) K to 12 Program,” Cabañog said.

He also pointed out the importance of educating the parents of high school students particularly on LMI to guide their children in making the right career choice.

Cabañog also advocated the campaign of school institutions on prohibited drugs.
